Like other contraceptives – and most prescription drugs generally – there are some known side effects of NuvaRing use, including:

• Minor bleeding or spotting
• Fluid retention
• Vaginal irritation, infection or secretion
• Headache

• Nausea
• Weight gain
• Decreased sex drive
• Mild depression
